Shibuya Selfies (2025)

Shibuya Crossing, located in Tokyo, Japan, is known as the world's busiest pedestrian crossing with up to 500,000 civilians daily walking under its Times Square-esque billboards and neon lights. It attracts passionate tourists from all over the world with one goal in mind: to take selfies. This photo project is meant to take a look at the effects smartphones and social media have had on the tourism industry as well as to reflect on whether or not digital tourism is healthy and sustainable.
